Prof. Dr. Recep Akdag received Alanna E. Armitage appointed to the Directorate of Eastern Europe and Central Asia of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) centered in Istanbul, and the accompanying delegation on 29 September 2016. In the meeting, information about the cultural, regional and countrywide studies of UNFPA was delivered to the Minister of Health of the Republic of Turkey and the field of joint cooperation for forthcoming period were discussed.
Prof. Dr. Recep Akdag underlined that specialties and knowledge of United Nations Agencies like UNFPA is very essential, so information and documents provided within this framework are very important sources to be benefited by all countries. In addition, Prof. Dr. Recep Akdag stated that Turkey achieved outstanding successes within the Health Transformation Program. Hence, joint studies with UNFPA would be a very great model for other countries and Turkey is ready for cooperation of all sorts.
