The Director-General for European Union and Foreign Relations Dr.Selami Kılıç was awarded the Star of Excellence for his services to Pakistan. At the ceremony held in Istanbul on August 15, 2021, the President of Pakistan Arif Alvi thanked the Director-General for his extraordinary services to Pakistan and presented the awards.
Completing his medical training at Quaid-e-Azam Medical College Bahawalpur, Dr. Selami Kılıç went to Pakistan during the great earthquake in 2005 along with the Turkish search and rescue teams. After the flood in Pakistan in 2010, he helped establish a mobile hospital in Dera Murad Jamali. He conducted damage and needs assessment surveys in various regions of the Sindh and Balochistan provinces. He also took an active part in the establishment of the Recep Tayyip Erdoğan Hospital in Muzaffargarh.
He contributed to the establishment of the Punjab Early Warning and Response System in Pakistan, training of medical personnel involved in pharmaceutical analysis, hospital automation programs, drug follow-up and screening system and many reforms related to the health sector.
