The benchmarking process to make TITCK a national regulatory authority with level 3 maturity before the World Health Organization (WHO) and a WHO listed authority was kicked off in 2018, however, the progress made by TITCK so far have not been checked on-the-spot due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
In this context, in order to give impetus to the process in question, on January 20, 2022, Deputy Minister Assoc. Prof. Tolga Tolunay, President of the TITCK, Assoc. Prof.Tolga Karakan, Deputy Director-General of Public Health, Dr. Mahmut Avcı, Director-General of EU and Foreign Affairs, Dr. Selami Kılıç, WHO Regulation and Prequalification Coordinator, Deus Mubangizi, Head of the Regulatory Systems Strengthening Unit Hiiti Siilo, Regulatory Systems Strengthening Specialist Alireza Khadem Broojerdi, Access to Medicines and Healthcare Products Program Manager Sarah Garner, Access to Medicines and Healthcare Products Specialist Dorina Pirgari, WHO Country Office Representative Dr. Batyr Berdyklychev held a review and coordination meeting.
At the end of the meeting, it was agreed that the WHO Technical Team would organize a study visit to Turkey as soon as possible.
