Joint Meeting for MIKTA Deputy Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Health took place online on 8 September 2022, and co-chaired by Deputy Health Minister Assoc. Prof. Tolga Tolunay and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Faruk Kaymakçı. Deputy Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Health of the other MIKTA member states and general directors were also present in the meeting.
The meeting focused on the exchange of country experiences for COVID-19 pandemic and how to strengthen the role and place of MIKTA in global health architecture.
In this regard, participants agreed on the potential of the coordination between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Health to improve the existent role of the MIKTA in global health architecture. Furthermore, it was discussed to develop a common point of view about how to cope with the pandemics in the form of New Normal and importance of vaccines for pandemics.
At the end of the meeting, Declaration of Joint Meeting for MIKTA Deputy Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Health, which was prepared by the Ministry of Health in coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs was adopted by the member states.
