Various news was reflected in the British press regarding the Salmonella cases found in some hotels in Antalya, which was also notified by the International Health Regulations (IHR) Focal Point responsible for the notification of certain epidemic and infectious disease risks to WHO for the Ministry of Health, and it was among the travel warnings of the UK regarding Türkiye. A virtual meeting was then arranged with the UK Health Security Agency IHR Focal Point. In addition to the Ministry of Health, high-level representatives from the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the London Embassy participated in the meeting. At the meeting, the measures taken by Türkiye regarding the issue were explained and it was reported that all the necessary inspections were intensified. In addition, the importance that our country attaches to tourism was underlined and the representatives of the UK Health Security Agency were invited to Türkiye for an on-site review of our early warning and response system.
