The 7th European Environment and Health Ministers Meeting, organized by the World Health Organization (DST), was held on 5-7 July 2023 in Budapest, Hungary. A delegation consisting of participants from the General Directorate of Public Health and the General Directorate of EU and Foreign Relations participated under the chairmanship of Deputy Minister Assoc. Prof. Tolga Tolunay.
The effects of the triple crisis, consisting of the climate change, environmental pollution and loss of biodiversity, on health were discussed at the meeting. Addressing the participants on climate change and environmental pollution, Deputy Minister Assoc. Prof. Tolga Tolunay conveyed Türkiye’s current efforts and vision in the field of environment and health. During the meeting, a Declaration was adopted setting out priorities and a roadmap for WHO and the Member States in the field of environment and health.
