Minister of Health Koca made a statement regarding the bombing of the Turkish-Palestinian Friendship Hospital.
Minister Koca stated on his social media account that the area around the Turkish-Palestinian Friendship Hospital in Gaza, built by Türkiye, was heavily bombed around 23:00 yesterday.
Stating that they received information that shrapnel had fallen into the rooms of the hospital, water pipes had burst, fuel was about to run out, and electricity could be cut off at any time, Koca said that an expert who communicated with a manager of the hospital said that the 3rd floor was hit by the bombardment, but there was no loss of life because it had been evacuated beforehand due to a possible attack.
Koca stated that loss of life would have been inevitable if precautions had not been taken and added;
"This hospital, of which surrounding area is under intense bombardment, is the only cancer hospital in Gaza. Patients do not have any other option right now. The medicines of these cancer patients who are on their deathbeds have run out. It is known that it is almost impossible for the staff to go to and from the hospital and for the ambulances to transport patients to the hospital. This following statement which is an obvious explanation of what is going on there is terrifying: 'Everything that moves is being bombed.'
Humanity is in anxiety. All people and all healthcare professionals in Türkiye are in great concern. There should be no doubt that action will be taken to ensure that the cancer hospital established by our country in Gaza can continue to provide services. "Those who bomb everything that moves, even around a hospital, should prepare themselves to be held accountable for this in the court of human conscience."
