Our Deputy Minister, Prof. Dr. Nurullah Okumuş, met with Prof. Dr. Joseph Haddad, President of the International Pediatric Association (IPA), and Kerem Hasanoğlu, IPA World Representative.
Our Director General, Dr. Aziz Alper Biten, also attended the meeting, during which Türkiye’s efforts in the field of infant and child health over the past 20 years and the significant progress achieved were discussed.
The meeting addressed efforts to reduce infant and child mortality, improve the quality of neonatal care services, strengthen preventive healthcare services and training for healthcare professionals, as well as opportunities for cooperation that could be developed globally in the field of child health.
During the meeting, Prof. Dr. Joseph Haddad was also invited to attend the XVIII European Congress for Integrative Medicine (ECIM 2026) and the IV International Congress on Traditional and Complementary Medicine, to be held in Antalya from 3 to 6 December 2026.
Prof. Dr. Joseph Haddad was thanked for his congratulations on Türkiye’s progress in reducing neonatal and child mortality, while Kerem Hasanoğlu was wished success in his new role as IPA World Representative.
