
Minister of Health Prof. Dr. Kemal Memişoğlu attended the 78th World Health Assembly held in Geneva on 19-20 May 2025, accompanied by a high-level delegation consisting of Deputy Minister of Health Assoc. Prof. Şuayp Birinci and Director General for EU and Foreign Affairs Dr. Aziz Alper Biten.
On the occasion of the Assembly, bilateral meetings were held with the Ministers of Health of the Syrian Arab Republic, Georgia, Ukraine, the Federal Republic of Somalia, the Republic of Iraq, the Islamic Republic of Iran, Pakistan, the Bahamas, the Federal Minister of the Interior of Switzerland and the Deputy Minister of Health of the Russian Federation. In addition, “Memorandum of Understanding in the Fields of Health and Medical Sciences between the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Türkiye and the Ministry of Health of Ukraine” was signed.
Addressing participants from all over the world at the 78th World Health Assembly, Minister of Health Prof. Memişoğlu underlined that the people in Gaza are struggling to survive in their own land and that the right to health, food and life are being taken away from them.
Minister Prof. Memişoğlu and the accompanying delegation also visited the CERN European Nuclear Research Center.
