
Developing Eight Countries Organization (D-8) 1st Health Ministers’ Meeting organized within the framework of the D-8 was held in Cairo on November 19, 2025, under the chairmanship of the Arab Republic of Egypt. General Director for EU and Foreign Affairs Dr. Aziz Alper Biten and his delegation participated to the meeting.
The meeting aimed to establish institutional cooperation in the field of health among D-8 countries and held under the theme “D-8 for Health: Innovation, Equity, and Resilience.” The meeting addressed issues such as strengthening public health capacities, improving maternal, newborn, and child health, access to medicines and vaccines, and strengthening digital health systems.
In his speech, Dr. Biten explained our Ministry's new vision, the “Productive Health Model,” and emphasized the humanitarian crisis in Gaza. He stated that each of the D-8 countries has significant experience in health, that Türkiye is ready to share its knowledge and experience, and that joint technical, financial, and scientific models are critical importance, especially for vulnerable communities.
At the end of the meeting, the Ministerial Declaration was adopted with the signatures of the heads of delegations.
