Director General Dr. Aziz Alper Biten held a series of meetings in Montenegro aimed at further strengthening health relations between Türkiye and Montenegro.
During a meeting attended by Türkiye’s Ambassador to Podgorica Ayda Ünlü and USHAŞ Director General Atty. Serdar Şenol, discussions were held with Ervin Ibrahimović, Deputy Prime Minister for International Relations and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Montenegro. The meeting focused on the current health relations between Türkiye and Montenegro, as well as opportunities to further enhance bilateral cooperation in the field of health.
As part of the visit to Montenegro, a meeting was also held with Dr. Vojislav Šimun, Minister of Health of Montenegro. The meeting, also attended by Türkiye’s Ambassador to Podgorica Ayda Ünlü and USHAŞ Director General Atty. Serdar Şenol, addressed potential areas of cooperation between the two countries, particularly health tourism, patient referral, digital health, organ transplantation, and the training of healthcare professionals.
The programme also included a visit to the Clinical Centre of Montenegro (KCCG), where a meeting was held with KCCG Director Dr. Aleksandar Radović. During the visit, which was also attended by USHAŞ Director General Atty. Serdar Şenol, information was provided on the Centre’s activities, and opportunities for further cooperation in healthcare services were discussed.
During the visit to Montenegro, Türkiye’s Ambassador to Podgorica, H.E. Ayda Ünlü, received Director General Dr. Aziz Alper Biten and the accompanying delegation. The meeting, also attended by USHAŞ Director General Atty. Serdar Şenol, provided an opportunity to review the visit programme and the bilateral health cooperation agenda.
As part of the programme, a meeting was also held with Dr. Jelena Borovinić Bojović, Deputy Prime Minister of Montenegro responsible for Health and Social Welfare. The meeting, attended by Türkiye’s Ambassador to Podgorica Ayda Ünlü and USHAŞ Director General Atty. Serdar Şenol, focused on the existing cooperation between Türkiye and Montenegro in the fields of health and social welfare, as well as potential new areas for further collaboration.
