The Regional Midwifery Conference, held under the theme “Strengthening Midwifery Services in Eastern Europe and Central Asia,” commenced at the Ministry’s Bilkent Campus in cooperation with the Ministry of Health, the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA), and the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), under the coordination of our Directorate General.
The conference brings together stakeholders to discuss ongoing efforts and initiatives aimed at strengthening midwifery services across Eastern Europe and Central Asia.
On the margins of the conference, Deputy Minister of Health Assoc. Prof. Şuayıp Birinci and Director General Dr. Aziz Alper Biten met with UNFPA Regional Director Florence Bauer.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the existing relations between Türkiye and the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and exchanged views on relevant areas of cooperation.
