Mr. Salou Adama Gazibo, Ambassador of Niger in Ankara, visited General Directorate of EU and Foreign Affairs on 28 March 2018 and had a meeting with the Director-General Dr. Selami Kılıç.

During the meeting, the parties talked about the process regarding execution of the Protocol on Establishment, Joint Operation and Transfer of Niger-Turkey Friendship Hospital that was finalized upon mutual agreement, and invitation for participation of Dr. İdi Illiassou Mainassara, Minister of Public Health of Niger, in the 1st International Traditional and Complementary Medicine Practices Congress planned to be held in Istanbul between 19-22 April 2018.

Dr. Selami Kılıç personally submitted the invitation letter signed by the Turkish Health Minister Dr. Ahmet Demircan and addressed to his Nigerien counterpart, and underlined that the Protocol may be signed during this visit if the Minister of Public Health of Niger participated in this Congress. During the meeting, another topic was the use of quotas regarding treatment of 50 Nigerian patients in Turkey within the framework of the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Turkey and Government of the Republic of Niger on Cooperation in the Fields of Health and Medical Sciences dated 8 January 2013.
