Prime Minister of Romania H.E. Viorica Dancila was received by H.E. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan at the Presidential Complex. Following the meetings of delegations, the bilateral agreements were signed in the presence of the guest Prime Minister and the Turkish President. During the ceremony, Health Minister of Turkey Dr. Fahrettin Koca and Health Minister of Romania Sorina Pintea signed the cooperation agreement in the field of health.
The Agreement signed includes provisions on exchange of knowledge, delegations and experts and participation in meetings concerning mutual strengthening of health systems, encouragement of reciprocal investments in the field of health, public health and family medicine system and geriatrics.
The meetings of 15 October chaired by the President of the Republic of Turkey and Prime Minister of Romania, and included meetings of delegations from two countries. In this regard, Health Minister Dr. Fahrettin Koca had a meeting with Health Minister of Romania Sorina Pintea and Economics Minister Eugen Teodorovici. The Parties mentioned about the health transformation program implemented in Turkey and the medical tourism. Dr. Koca stated the aim of Turkey to become a health base of the region, and the guest Minister suggested establishment of a joint working group in that field. Minister of Economics, on the other hand, stated that he had visited hospitals in Turkey and expressed his appreciation. Teodorovici added that they would like to build a hospital – similar to Mersin City Hospital, in Köstence and conclude an agreement to work together. The guest Minister also said to provide support, as the Government of Romania, for the patients who would be treated in Turkey.
