Health Minister Dr. Fahrettin Koca went to Tashkent to attend the Uzbek-Turkish Health Business Forum. On the first day of the visit, a Letter of Intent was signed between the two countries apart from the 11 separate agreements in the field of health.
80 firms from Turkey took part in the three-day forum aiming to enhance cooperation between Turkey and Uzbekistan in the field of health. Coordinated by the Ministries of Health of the two countries, the Forum was organized by International Health Services Inc. (USHAŞ).
In his inaugural speech, Dr. Koca expressed his pleasure for being in one of the ancient cities of the Turkish-Islam world and his wish to make a contribution to the existent cooperation between the two states.
“Our peoples and states have even greater potential for cooperation on the basis of equality and mutual benefit. I firmly believe that we will follow and even go beyond the joint political will of H.E. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and H.E. Mirziyoyev. The reciprocal visits of our Presidents enabled convene of the High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council in 2018. As Ministers of Health, we are making efforts to carry out our responsibilities and develop our cooperation” said Dr. Koca in his speech.
Around 80 Turkish firms from the sectors of health investments, health IT, international patient treatment, medicines, medical devices, cosmetic and other fields participated in the Forum to meet with their Uzbek counterparts.
8 health week organizations have been made so far in Fergana, Termez, Kharezm, Tashkent and Karakalpakistan with the support and coordination of TIKA, as a result of which 725 operations and 3 thousand 35 consultation were made, and training was provided for 1577 healthcare professionals.
