Building on the telephone meeting among H.E. Prime Minister of Albania Edi Rama and H.E. President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, a delegation of the members of the Ministry of Health Pandemic Scientific Board paid a visit to Albania on 15-18 December 2020 with a view to exchanging knowledge and experience. The delegation consisted of Arif Çetin, Deputy General Director of EU and Foreign Relations; Prof Recep Öztürk, Infectious Diseases Specialist from İstanbul Medipol University; Prof Dr Hatice Rahmet Güner, Infectious Diseases Specialist and Prof Dr Seval İzdeş, Anaesthesiology and Reanimation Specialist from Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University and Ankara City Hospital; Prof Dr Ali Özer, Public Health Specialist from Malatya İnönü University. During the visit, Turkish delegation was received by H.E Minister of Health of Albania Ogerta Manasturliu and held meetings with the Deputy Minister of Health and representatives of National Health Technical Committee. The delegation also visited Mother Theresa Hospital and National Emergency Control Centre to have discussions on on-going activities.
On the final day of the visit, a video conference meeting was held with H.E. Edi Rama, Prime Minister of Albania and the Turkish delegation presented its observations and feedback related to the visit.
