The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary, Péter Szijjártó paid a visit to Turkey to hold official meetings. The Minister also visited the Ministry of Health on February 8, 2021 where he was hosted by the Minister of Health, Dr. Fahrettin Koca. At the meeting, the parties discussed measures against COVID-19, Turkey's support to other countries, treatment and vaccine-related efforts, exchange of knowledge on vaccines, and cooperation between the two countries. The Hungarian side expressed its readiness to participate in the phase-3 trials of the COVID-19 vaccine to be manufactured in Turkey. A note of the Hungarian embassy in Ankara on the creation of a special task force on this matter was submitted to the Ministry of Health by MoFA.
