The Uzbek delegation chaired by the Deputy Minister of Health of Uzbekistan, Prof. Anvar Alimov, and Tashkent Metropolitan Municipality Deputy Mayor, Sardor Abdullaev paid a visit to Turkey on February 24-25, 2021. As a part of this visit, the delegation had a meeting with the Deputy Minister of Health, Prof. Emine Alp Meşe on February 24, 2021. At the meeting, the parties stressed the satisfaction with bilateral health cooperation between the two countries and touched upon Turkey's ventilator and personal protective equipment donation to Uzbekistan, a member of the Turkic Council, and the Uzbekistan Ministry of Health's support to the phase 3 trials of the COVID-19 vaccine that is currently being developed in Turkey.
The delegation also had a meeting with Deputy Minister Şuayip Birinci. The delegation were delivered presentations by the General Directorate of EU and Foreign Affairs on the Turkish healthcare system, General Directorate of Health Investments on the construction of city hospitals, public-private partnerships, and other investment methods, and the General Directorate of Health Information Systems on digital solutions in healthcare. The delegation was informed about the emergency medical services in Turkey by the General Directorate of Emergency Medical Services on February 25, 2021. USHAŞ also delivered a presentation on its activities. On the same day, the delegation also paid a visit to Ankara City Hospital.
