Dr. Mehmet Müezzinoğlu, Minister of Health of the Republic of Turkey hosted Dr. Petar Moskov, Minister of Health of Bulgaria and Adam Persenski, Deputy Minister of Health, in Istanbul.
Agenda items which were addressed to develop the current cooperation with Bulgaria in the field of health are as follows:
- Revision of the “Protocol of Cooperation in the field of Health for 1994-1996 period between the Government of Republic of Turkey and the Government of Republic of Bulgaria” dated 07.06.1994 in a manner to meet the current requirements;
- Cooperation in the fields of health services during emergencies and disasters, medicines and medical devices issues and health tourism;
- Cooperation with Bulgaria for production of BCG vaccine or joint purchase of vaccines;
- Joint organization of public health and emergency health services on both sides of the border and treatment of patients from Bulgaria in Turkey.
