High-level Meeting on Migrant and Health of World Health Organization (WHO) Regional Office for Europe was held with the cooperation of WHO and our Ministry in İstanbul on March 17 – 18, 2022, hosted by Türkiye. The aims of meeting are to create a high-level discussion environment on activities and cooperation regarding health of refugees and migrants to be carried out in upcoming periods and to form a vision frame. At the end of the meeting, an outcome document was received.
The meeting was attended by Vice-President of European Commission Margaritis Schinas, WHO Regional Director for Europe Hans Kluge, WHO Regional Director for the Eastern Mediterranean Ahmed Al-Mandhari, WHO Regional Director for Africa Matshidiso Moeti and the bureaucrats from so many countries at ministerial level. Within the scope of meeting, Minister Dr. Fahrettin Koca made bilateral meetings with Deputy Prime Minister of Libya (Acting Minister of Health) Ramadan Abu Janah, Minister of Public Health of Lebanon Dr. Firas Abiad, Executive Vice President and Head of International Affairs, U.S. Chamber of Commerce Myron Brilliant, Minister of Health of Republic of Kyrgyzstan Prof. Dr. Beishenaliyev Alymkadyr Savirdinovich, Minister of Health of Romania Alexandru Raila, Minister of Humanitarian Action and Disaster Risk Management of Niger Laouan Magagi and Minister of Health of Tunisia Dr. Ali Mrabet.
