Deputy Ministers, Assoc. Prof. Tolga Tolunay and Dr. Şuayip Birinci, received the Cuban delegation headed by Deputy Minister of Public Health of Cuba Luis Fernando Navarro, who visited Türkiye on 15-18 January 2023 to hold the Türkiye-Cuba Joint Health Working Group meeting. The meeting between the Deputy Ministers took place on 16 January 2023. Within the scope of the visit, presentations on Turkish Health System and other related issues were made for the Cuban Delegation which also held meetings with the Turkish Medicines and Medical Devices Agency, the Presidency of the Turkish Health Institutes and sector officials.
R&D and technology transfer in the fields of drugs, vaccines, medical devices, biotechnology; international patient treatment, drugs, medical equipment and devices, health investments and service procurement, health information systems, and education in medicine and other health professions; “Health Türkiye” brand, launched by President of Türkiye Recep Tayyip Erdoğan within the framework of the vision of the “Century of Türkiye”; exchange of information and personnel with Cuba in the field of health technologies; drug licensing process issues were discussed during the meetings.
