In the aftermath of the Kahramanmaraş Earthquake, 38 foreign international medical teams (EMT) came to Türkiye and provided health services, and many of them carried out their activities under the call and coordination of WHO and in cooperation with the Ministry of Health of Türkiye. In this context, the "EMT Lessons Learned Workshop", where the lessons learned during the earthquake response in our country would be discussed, was held in Istanbul on 15-16 June 2023.
Deputy Minister of Health Assoc. Prof. Tolga Tolunay, Director General for EU and Foreign Relations Dr. Selami Kılıç, Director General for Emergency Health Services Assoc. Prof. Eray Çınar, Deputy Director General for Public Health Assoc. Prof. Mehmet Enes Gökler, WHO Regional Emergency Director for Europe Dr. Gerald Rockenschaub and EMT teams that came to support our country during the earthquake participated in the organization.
