
The Summit of Heads of State of the Organization of Turkic States was held on 12 November 2021 in Istanbul under the theme of “Green Technologies and Smart Cities in the Digital Age”. It was presided over by H.E. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, President of the Republic of Turkey, and attended by H.E. Ilham Aliyev, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, H.E. Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, H.E. Sadyr Zhaparov, President of the Kyrgyz Republic, H.E. Shavkat Mirziyoyev, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, H.E. Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, Former President of Turkmenistan, H.E. Viktor Orban, Prime Minister of Hungary, and H.E. Baghdad Amreyev, Former Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States. After the summit, the "Summit Declaration" and "Turkish World 2040 Vision" documents were signed, and in the Summit Declaration; “… it was declared that the organization of the "Turkish Medical World Congress" every year with the participation of the Ministers of Health and scientists of the member and observer states was approved.”
The first of the Turkish Medical World Congress was held in İstanbul between 30-31 October 2022 with the patronage and honor of H.E. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, the President of the Republic of Türkiye. Ministers of Health and scientists from the member and observer countries of the Organization of Turkic States attended the congress, and it was agreed to hold the congress in 2023 in Samarkand, Uzbekistan.
In this framework, the 2nd Turkish Medical World Congress and the Health Ministers Meeting of the Organization of Turkic States were held in Samarkand on 16-17 August 2023 with the coordination and support of the General Secretariat of the Organization of Turkic States and the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Türkiye.

Dr. Fahrettin Koca, Minister of Health of Republic of Türkiye, Kubanıçbek Ömuraliyev, Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States, Teymur Musayev, Minister of Health of Azerbaijan, Azhar Giniyat, Minister of Health of Kazakhstan, Amrillo Inayatov, Minister of Health of Uzbekistan, Tilek Mammadaliyev, Deputy Minister of Health of Kyrgyz Republic and Marsel Minnullin, Minister of Health of Tatarstan the meeting. Bilateral meetings were held with all the participating Ministers and the relations between the countries were evaluated regarding health.




The 2024 - 2025 Action Plan including 10 protocols was signed between the Ministries of Health of Türkiye and Uzbekistan at a ceremony held on 16 August 2023. The protocols involve cooperation between Turkish and Uzbek institutions, especially universities and hospitals.

Simultaneously with the 2nd Turkish Medical World Congress and the Health Ministers Meeting of the Organization of Turkic States, the second Uzbekistan-Türkiye Health Business Forum and Fair, the first of which was held in Tashkent in 2019, was held.
Within the scope of the Forum and Fair, which attracted great interest, 45 stands were opened by Turkish and Uzbek companies and around 1300 participants visited.
